Independent Root Platform

Terms of Use

Effective date: August 10, 2026
Version: 2026-08-10

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern use of the independent Swearingin.com Root Platform, including Root Platform accounts, profiles, publishing, social features, media, notifications, reports, moderation, and related account services.

Creating a Root Platform account means that you agree to these Terms. Other independently operated sites or applications linked from Swearingin.com may have their own terms and account systems.

2. Adult account eligibility

Public Root Platform accounts are currently available only to people who are at least 18 years old.

Registration does not ask for your date of birth. Instead, you must truthfully certify that you satisfy the minimum-age requirement. If we learn that an account does not satisfy this requirement, the account may be suspended or closed.

3. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the security of your credentials, and using your account lawfully. Do not access another person's account without authorization or attempt to defeat authentication, rate limits, security controls, moderation, or other protective measures.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content that you create and upload. You give Swearingin.com the limited permission needed to store, process, reproduce, transform, transmit, and display that content as necessary to operate the Root Platform and honor the visibility settings you select.

You are responsible for having the rights needed to submit your content. Do not upload or publish material that violates another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.

5. Visibility and public content

Root Platform profiles and content can have different visibility levels. Content that you deliberately make public may be visible to people who are not signed in and may be indexed, copied, quoted, or linked by others outside the Root Platform.

Private, signed-in, and connections-only controls limit Root Platform access according to the application's visibility rules, but no online system can guarantee that information another person has already seen or copied can later be recovered.

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Root Platform for harassment, spam, impersonation, hateful or abusive conduct, violence or threats, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, privacy violations, malware, unauthorized access, fraud, or unlawful activity.

The Community Guidelines explain these expectations in more detail.

7. Safety, reports, and moderation

Eligible users may report visible profiles, posts, and comments. Reports may create moderation cases. Authorized Root Platform moderators may hold, remove, restore, or close matters without content mutation as supported by the moderation system.

Where the application provides an appeal, an affected owner may use that appeal process. Abuse of reporting, appeal, or moderation systems is prohibited.

8. Security

Do not probe, exploit, interfere with, overload, scrape in a manner that defeats controls, or attempt unauthorized access to the Root Platform, its accounts, infrastructure, media, sessions, queues, storage, or administrative functions.

9. Account changes and closure

You may change supported account information through the Root Platform's account controls. You may close your account through the account-security surface after confirming your password and the required closure confirmation.

Account closure uses the platform's soft-deletion and retention architecture. Certain security, audit, moderation, safety, retention, and username-tombstone records may remain after account closure as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Service changes and availability

The Root Platform is under continuing development. Features may be added, changed, restricted, suspended, or removed for operational, security, safety, legal, or product reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

11. Changes to these terms

When these Terms materially change, the published version and effective date will be updated. If a future change requires fresh account acceptance, the Root Platform may require that acceptance before continued use of affected account features.
